Molly’s Preschool follows the Principles, Strands and Goals of Te Whāriki ( National Early Childhood Curriculum)
Our mixed-age setting offers a warm, family-like environment where siblings can be together, cultures and languages are valued, and children learn from one another. We take a personal approach to early childhood education, drawing on internationally acclaimed philosophies while tailoring our flexible program to each child’s needs as they grow. With individualised attention, our teachers ensure every child receives personalised care and meaningful learning experiences.
We value play is the best way of learning for young children.
'Play builds brain pathways for Thinking, Creativity, Flexibility, Empathy and many other life long skills.'

Starting somewhere new can feel like a big change — not just for children, but for parents too. At Molly's, we do everything we can to make this transition smooth, reassuring, and positive for your whole whānau.
To help your tamariki settle in, we use a Key Teacher Approach. This means your child will have one special teacher — their key teacher — who will be their main point of connection in those early days.
The key teacher will take care of your child’s needs during the settling-in period, from mealtimes to comfort moments, so your child can build trust and feel secure. The key teacher will learn about your child’s routines, likes, dislikes, interests, and anything important to their wellbeing
“Every kid starts out as a natural-born scientist.”–Carl Sagan
STEAM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, and all of these are important to include in children’s early learning.
At Molly’s Preschool, our teachers facilitate learning experiences by creating opportunities for children to learn about the world through STEAM lenses. We integrate STEAM into our daily programme to optimize play-based learning and support our children's critical thinking, problem solving, and communication
We regularly take the children to explore the local community, such as Mt Albert library, local shops, parks, MOTAT, museum and Auckland Town Hall. The children are provided with opportunities to visit our local places according to their interests and ability- fostering tuakana/teina relationships as well as offering our older children leadership roles. We aim to promote the holistic development of all involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent, and creative learners. Transitions are an important part of life. As our children make transitions to school, as teachers we ensure that their transitions are smooth, and supported well. We empower and encourage our children to be independent learners. We take time to learn about our children and parents' aspirations.
Our Transition to School Programme offers rich opportunities for exploration, inquiry, and challenge. We design experiences that stimulate curiosity, foster problem-solving skills, and encourage children to work both independently and collaboratively. Through these experiences, children develop resilience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards learning, laying a strong foundation for the next stage of their educational journey.
